We’ve just launched another customer-suggested feature: hot desking. Hot desking allows you to quickly setup a VoIP phone, then log in and out of your extension from that phone. This means that if you wish employees to frequently work from different desks or even different locations, they only need to remember their seven digit extension [...] After suggestions from customers we have implemented a way for VoIP users to login and manage their extension without needing full access to your admin account. Extension login allows users to manage their own settings, meaning the admin user will no longer have to make every change or trust a user with full account access. However, we have seen high-cost numbers in countries that have been allowed within an account being exploited. As part of this effort, we have now deployed the Gradwell VoIP Security Scanner, which periodically checks the SIP devices connected to our network for known insecurities, such as unlocked VoIP phone web administration interfaces. Customers are no longer be able to specify their own password in the control panel. Instead they are only able to generate a new password.
