After suggestions from customers we have implemented a way for VoIP users to login and manage their extension without needing full access to your admin account.

Extension login allows users to manage their own settings, meaning the admin user will no longer have to make every change or trust a user with full account access.

As previously mentioned, all extension passwords are now randomly generated. As this makes them difficult to remember, extension login will be possible using an extension’s voicemail PIN.

However, to maintain a high level of security and protect you from fraud, users will not be able to login to an extension if their PIN is too simple (e.g. all the same number or sequential digits such as 1234) or if their voicemail PIN is similar to their extension number (e.g. extension is 100304 and the PIN is 0304)

If a customer tries to login unsuccessfully 3 times, the extension will be blocked for PIN login. A notification will then be displayed in the VoIP control panel. From there the extension can be unblocked.
